Speaker 1 (00:04.13) Hi, I'm Karen. Welcome back to Poodle People, where we talk about all things poodles. and I'm Elise. Speaker 1 (00:15.438) Hi everyone, I first want to wish everyone a very, very happy holiday and best wishes for a fabulous 2025. I think the holidays are a really special time and it allows us to unwind and reflect on last year and think about planning for next year, which I think is really exciting. I wanted to give you a quick update on the puppies. They are up on four legs, which is really exciting and kind of wandering around and lurching like prehistoric beasts. Yesterday Cream was practicing her bark, which was just adorable. She's very vocal. but both puppies are very strong and doing really well, which is wonderful. I hope you have lovely plans for the weekend and the new year. I thought that since I didn't want to have a guest during the holidays, that I would just make a short podcast thanking everyone first for giving me some input on your most favorite topics. please do let me know either in the in your podcast app or email me directly or message me on Instagram to let me know what you'd like to see in 2025. But I thought I would just give you a few of my favorite Instagram accounts that I follow and they might be people you don't follow so I thought I would just give some of my favorites a shout out. So nonstop dog wear Is I think they're a European company that make very active dog equipment, things that we probably would not see so much in the US. but I think that their coats and their equipment look really amazing, but I also love that they have free guides to help you get started being more active with your dog, and since dog activity and Speaker 2 (02:28.398) you Speaker 1 (02:43.348) sporting has really been an interest of mine. lately, I wanted to give them a mention. I'm going in no particular order, so don't read into that. so doggliness is one of my favorite accounts. I think that the account posts some really thoughtful and in-depth information that this. Speaker 1 (03:12.746) will help dog owners of all types but of course poodles. So she has the dogliness brand and I think her personal account is Cool Poodles. And both accounts have really fabulous information about behavior, coat care, things like that. So I really love that account. this. like that. Speaker 1 (03:38.552) Blue the guide dog is one of my absolute favorite accounts. I love how in-depth the information is and it helps me see what a service owner and a service dog go through. And since I have been placing dogs in service homes, it's really useful for me to see that really lengthy explanation so that I have a more thorough understanding of what I need to prepare my puppies for. so my Laugh Out Loud account is Suki and Ivy. Unfortunately, so it's two dogs and the owner crochets for them and is just hilarious. I have spent so much time being genuinely amused by Suki and Ivy. Unfortunately, it. I Speaker 1 (04:35.456) One of the dogs has just passed away, so there is a new addition to the account. I totally apologize to Suki and Ivy. I can't remember the new dog's name, but I expect more and Speaker 2 (04:47.456) Taste tests and hilarious costuming and hilarious captioning. It is one Instagram rabbit hole and say you shouldn't go down. It is totally worth it. The kind I love the effort that goes It is really worth it. that I can't even. Speaker 2 (05:08.158) is just fabulous. The dogs are really special and there's a really unique vibe to that account. It's not something that anyone could do but the owner and Suki and Ivy. It's really fabulous. So a as I mentioned earlier, I've really been interested in Speaker 2 (05:33.333) in, Sports conditioning. I think coming from an equine perspective, I totally know how to train a horse and improve, improve a top line, condition a horse for competition. but I feel like the science for dogs is changing so much that this is really kind of a new area. so I have been reading some academic papers and also following some accounts that I think are really interesting. The first account that I fell in love with is akita.inu.band. I think she's from Lithuania and her account, like definitely follow it. I love her account because she shows you w how she trains her Akitas. It's interesting. Speaker 1 (06:30.586) just so that they are more athletic and fit. Like special bonus, she's not selling anything, so I really love that. And Speaker 2 (06:39.534) I've asked Her to be on the podcast, but so far she's declined. So my interest in that has led me to two other accounts, Dogs for Motion and Chasing the Tail. And they are both European accounts as well. And they also do dog conditioning. Jana from Dogs for Motion has done the University of Tennessee Knoxville. I think that her account DVM. I think it's really, really fabulous. Special shout out to whoever has designed her website because it is Speaker 2 (07:21.88) really one of the nicest websites I've seen. And her account has a lot of really interesting information. The courses are really well priced and she had a huge Black Friday sale and she's having a Christmas sale that's also good. So if you feel like splurging on dog conditioning and learning more about it I would definitely recommend Dogs for Motion. Chasing the Tail is aligned with Dogs for Motion so you can look at both accounts. So just a quick rundown, I mentioned nonstop dog wear, dogliness and cool poodles. Blue, the guide dog. Suki and Ivy. Akita.Enu.Band. Dogs for motion with the letter four not spelled out. And chasing the tail. So I hope that this video was helpful to you and that maybe you'll give them a follow and check I hope some of these accounts are new. Speaker 2 (08:28.674) they have and give me some feedback on what you think of them. I think that they cover a broad variety from equipment to coat care, which is always a concern to poodles, to absolute amusing posts with Suki and Ivy. All of these accounts. Calculate. have been really important to me in different ways. I've gotten really good information from all of them and I hope that you will too. I've asked... Some of the owners of these accounts to be on the podcast. on the past so you can look forward to that. But really I'm not trying to sell anything. I'm just mentioning these as great accounts that I think are valuable and I don't get anything from this. I'm just sharing top-notch educational and amusing information that I think you may find valuable just like I did. Speaker 1 (09:33.964) So I hope you are happy having a lovely season. hope you have weather where you can get outside and have fun with your dogs and enjoy the holiday spirit. And I hope you have a lovely and happy 2025. Thanks for listening, and remember, a poodle will change your life.
